Note concerning the pronouncement of Corte di Cassazione on 30 May 2019
On 10thJuly the Italian Corte di Cassazione released the complete judgement of the 30th May preliminary declaration concerning the commercialization of cannabis. As it now stands the commercialization of cannabis products for recreational use that produce a ‘drug effect’ – the result of products containing THC – is now prohibited in Italy. While other existing laws, based off of the EU framework, allow for a legal threshold for agricultural production.
